Friend,
When you hired me two years ago, I made a promise.
I promised that I would go to work for all Virginians and deliver on a shared vision that takes our great Commonwealth forward to become the best place to live, work, and raise a family.
Together, we have climbed closer and closer to that goal... to that shining city on a hill where we know Virginia should be:
We delivered $5 billion in tax relief, because your hard-earned money belongs to you and not the government.
We made record investments in our students and our teachers, so Virginia's next generation can realize their full potential with a best-in-class education.
We put parents back at the head seat of the table in their children's lives, because that's where parents belong.
We started to transform our behavioral health system to get Virginians struggling with mental health challenges the right help, right now.
We backed our law enforcement heroes with pay raises and the resources they need to keep us safe. We did all of this, together, not based on a partisan agenda but because we know that commonsense solutions deliver the best results for Virginia.
But all that progress threatens to be undone by far-left Democrats who barely control our General Assembly. They are trying to lead Virginia down a path toward higher taxes, fewer jobs, unsafe communities, and a stagnant economy.
As your Governor, I am not going to let that happen. I am not going to let them steal from your paychecks and raise your taxes. I am not going to let them put violent criminals back on our streets. I am not going to let them drive economic opportunity and jobs away from the Commonwealth.
I was elected to find commonsense solutions to propel Virginia forward. I promise to use my veto pen to protect Virginians from taxation and bad policies, and I appreciate your support as I deliver on the promise I made when you hired me.
Thank you for your continued support. Governor Glenn Youngkin
