Today, BJS released its Strategic Plan for fiscal years 2024?2029. The goals and initiatives identified in this plan will enhance the collection, production, and dissemination of critical, timely, and high-impact statistical information necessary for development and implementation of criminal justice policies and programs. It also highlights leadership?s commitment to continuous improvement, employee engagement, and effective communication.
The Bureau of Justice Statistics of the U.S. Department of Justice is the principal federal agency responsible for collecting, analyzing, and disseminating reliable statistics on crime and criminal justice in the United States. Kevin M. Scott, PhD, is the acting director.
