For the past five months, people in Gaza have lived each day in terror and grief. The health system is in a state of total collapse and basic necessities such as fuel, water, and food are nearly impossible to obtain.
With the unyielding violence driving these women and girls from their homes and into overcrowded spaces, basic hygiene supplies have become out of reach for the approximately 690,000 women and girls of menstruating age.
That’s why UNFPA is working tirelessly to make these supplies accessible for all who need them.
We have been on the ground in Gaza since 1986 and from the moment that violence struck in October, we began distributing Dignity Kits. Since then, UNFPA has distributed more than 7,000 Dignity Kits to women and girls throughout the violence-torn region thanks to your generous gifts.
“May God bless you, because this is the first time I have received such a package since the day we were displaced,” said one recipient of a UNFPA Dignity Kit in Rafah.
“All the items in the bag are not available in the first place, and even if they are, their prices are very expensive,” said another.
“All the items in the bag are crucial, and we truly need them,” added a third.
Each Dignity Kit costs only $15 to create, but the contents of each kit are priceless to the recipients. So as conflict rages on, will you deliver the gift of dignity to women and girls?
Make a gift to deliver Dignity Kits to those suffering in Gaza and around the world:
The suffering must end. We condemn the violence in Gaza, the West Bank, and Israel, including all sexual violence, and echo the UN Secretary-General’s call for a sustained humanitarian ceasefire and the immediate and unconditional release of all hostages by Hamas.
Thank you for being there.
