Hi John,
With just two days remaining until the extended budget deadline, we find ourselves, yet again, in a situation where Governor Hochul has failed to deliver a timely budget that adequately addresses the needs of our children and working families.
The budget isn't done yet. We need to continue pushing for critical funding for education and child care hanging in the balance. We can't rest until these are fully funded.
We urge Senate and Assembly leadership to hold the line and fight for an enacted budget that rejects Governor Hochul's harmful cuts and instead fully funds Foundation Aid and commits $1 million to the State Education Department to evaluate and revise the formula while maintaining its principles of equity. Our schools and communities cannot afford to wait any longer for the resources they desperately need to thrive.
