Help families grow thriving gardens this spring
-----------------------------------------------

Dear Friend,

**My name is Alemayehu Abebe, and I work as Project Coordinator for Ripple Effect Ethiopia. I am delighted to share that your**[**spring newsletter**]([link removed])**is now here. In your newsletter, you can read inspiring stories from the families you support across rural Africa.**

I also wanted to share with you [Meselech's story]([link removed]). This spring, families like Meselech (pictured above) living in the Bensa district are at risk of facing months on end of hunger.

Having grown up in the Bensa district where I now work, I understand the challenges families are up against and I am more determined than ever to be there for them.

[ **Yes, I'll read Meselech's story**]([link removed])

Meselech is a hardworking mother who relies on her plot of land for food and income. Meselech's farm, situated amidst steep hills, is impacted by soil degradation as well as heavy, unpredictable rains as a result of the climate crisis, which wash away precious crops.

**These challenges mean families are unable to cover the food needs of their households every month of the year. This is truly devastating. But with your support this spring, it doesn’t have to be this way.**

***“From October to March, we’d be okay as that’s when we would harvest our maize and coffee and we could buy some food with the small amount of income we earned. Between April and September, we faced a huge shortage of food. We’d get so hungry it would make us feel angry.”***

Meselech, Ethiopia

A productive and abundant farm that produces enough food all year round is only made possible by having the right seeds, tools and sustainable farming skills.

**Here’s how a gift from you today could make all the difference:**

**Tools**
$17 could equip two families with tools like a rake and a hoe so they can get growing.

[ **Donate $17**]([link removed])

**Seeds**
$28 could provide a family with vegetable seeds like Swiss chard and carrot.

[ **Donate $28**]([link removed])

**Training**
$45 could provide a family with training on composting to improve the soil quality.

[ **Donate $45**]([link removed])

There are many more families like Meselech’s approaching April not knowing if they will be able to feed their families.

A [gift of any size today]([link removed]), could equip another family like Meselech’s with seeds, tools and training to grow thriving gardens this spring so their children don’t go hungry. Thank you for your support.

[ **Yes, I'll donate today**]([link removed])

With best wishes,

Alemayehu Abebe
