*LANSING, Mich. ?* Today, Governor Gretchen Whitmer announced the following appointments to the? Michigan Community Corrections Board, Governor's Traffic Safety Advisory Commission, Michigan Citizen-Community Emergency Response Coordinating Council, Michigan Truck Safety Commission, State Survey and Remonumentation Commission, Mental Health Diversion Council, Barrier Free Design Board, State Board of Professional Engineers, State Board of Professional Surveyors, State Board of Architects, Michigan Board of Real Estate Appraisers, Michigan Board of Nursing, Collections Practices Board, and the Michigan Asian American Pacific Affairs Commission.?

Today?s appointees represent Michigan?s young professionals, communities of color, seniors, and more. The appointees announced this week build on Governor Whitmer?s work to ensure appointees reflect Michigan?s diverse population. Sixty percent of appointees are women or people of color, and the Whitmer cabinet is the most diverse in Michigan history.?

_*Michigan Community Corrections Board*_
Gary Davis, of Saginaw, is the executive director of TRICAP, a probation residential center offering an alternative placement option to jail or prison for male or female offenders within the State of Michigan. Davis received his Bachelor of Arts in history from Saginaw Valley State University.?Gary Davis is appointed to represent existing community alternatives program for a term commencing April 2, 2024 and expiring March 31, 2028. Gary Davis succeeds William DeBoer whose term has expired. ?

Brenda Goss Andrews, of Detroit, is retired from the Detroit Police Department with over 30 years of experience. She was also the first female in the police department?s history to administer and control the departments $400 million-dollar budget and $30 million dollars in state and federal grants. Goss Andrews received a Bachelor of Business Administration from Howard University, a Master of Science from Michigan State University, and is a graduate of the 171st class of the FBI National Academy. Brenda Goss Andrews is appointed to represent the general public for a term commencing April 2, 2024 and expiring March 31, 2028. Brenda Goss Andrews succeeds Marlene Davis whose term has expired. ?

Brandon Davis, of Muskegon, is the director of oversight and public accountability for the City of Grand Rapids. Davis received a a Bachelor of Applied Arts from Central Michigan University and a Juris Doctor degree from Wayne State University Law School. Brandon Davis is appointed as chair for a term commencing April 2, 2024 and expiring March 31, 2025.?

The Michigan Community Corrections Board serves in an advisory capacity to the Director of the Michigan Department of Corrections and is charged with approving many components of community corrections programs including: goals, eligibility criteria, program guidelines, program standards and policies, the application process, procedures for funding, and criteria for evaluation.???

Jeff King, of Farmington Hills, is the chief of police of the Farmington Hills Police Department.?King received an associate degree in applied science in law enforcement from Macomb Community College, a Bachelor of Science in criminal justice from Concordia University, and a Master of Science Administration in leadership from Central Michigan University.?Jeff King is appointed to represent local units of government for a term commencing April 2, 2024, and expiring May 27, 2026. Jeff King succeeds Aubrey Jon Gale?whose term has expired. ?

The Governor's Traffic Safety Advisory Commission shall identify traffic safety challenges, and develop, promote and implement strategies to address those challenges. Specifically, the Commission shall: Develop comprehensive solutions to traffic safety challenges through partnerships with all levels of government and the private sector; Maximize and coordinate the use of existing financial resources, including federal highway safety planning funds administered by the Office of Highway Safety Planning. ?

Chad Vesser, of Traverse City, is an emergency management officer for Michigan 2-1-1. Chad Vesser is appointed to represent individuals with technical expertise related to emergency response for a term commencing April 2, 2024, and expiring December 31, 2027. Chad Vesser succeeds Megan Anderson whose term expired.?

The Michigan Citizen-Community Emergency Response Coordinating Council (MCCERCC) assists in developing, maintaining, implementing and in supporting and promoting emergency response principles, strategies and practices within governmental agencies and private sector organizations in Michigan.??

Bill Kotynski, of Howell, is a senior risk consultant at Ryder system Inc. Previously, he served as commander of the investigative unit at the Michigan State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division.?William Kotynski is appointed to represent the general public for a term commencing April 2, 2024, and expiring August 4, 2025. William Kotynski succeeds Kim Kelly who has resigned. ?

The Michigan Truck Safety Commission (MTSC) is the only organization in the nation dedicated to commercial truck driver education and training supported solely by the industry it serves. The Commission is committed to enhancing truck and truck driver safety by providing truck driver education and training, heightening all drivers' awareness of the operational characteristics and limitations of trucks, initiating data collection and research, and supporting enforcement of motor carrier safety laws.???

Jessica Taylor, of Detroit, is the executive director for Chance for Life Organization, a comprehensive prison-based transformation model that provides inmates and returning citizens with cognitive restructuring programs.? Jessica Taylor received her Bachelor of Science and Master of Business Administration from Cornerstone University.?Jessica Taylor is reappointed to represent community prisoner or jail re-entry programs?for a term commencing April 2, 2024, and expiring January 30, 2028.?

Eric Doeh, of Belleville, is the president and CEO of the Detroit Wayne Integrated Health Network. Additionally, he is an adjunct professor for the University of Detroit Mercy Law School and previously served as the deputy chief assistant of the drug task force for the US attorney?s office. Eric Doeh received his Bachelor of Arts in political science and english from the University of Michigan and his Juris Doctor from the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law. Eric Doeh is reappointed to represent medicaid pre-paid inpatient health plans?for a term commencing April 2, 2024, and expiring January 30, 2028.?

Judge Sara Spencer-Noggle, of Mount Pleasent, is a judge in the 21st Circuit Court Judge of Isabella County. Prior to being appointed to the bench, she served as a public defender for the county.
