Dear Relatives,

Amidst the Covid-19 pandemic TC Energy (aka TransCanada) is trying to move forward with the construction of its Keystone XL pipeline, bringing hundreds of transient workers : [link removed] into Oceti Sakowin territory.

Given the risks of Covid-19 infection spread, this action is completely unethical and down right dangerous for the rural communities along the pipeline route, native and non-native. And let's not forget the high risk for sexual violence against native women associated with transient oil company workers. 

Relatives, we have to draw the line in defense of our families.

Join us in calling for the protection of Indigenous people, rural communities and workers and demand all KXL construction activity stop immediately. : [link removed]


TC Energy plans to establish “man camps” across Montana, South Dakota and Nebraska — temporary housing where hundreds or even thousands of pipeline workers would live in very small, very rural communities. Hospitals and Indian Health Services along the proposed route are already ill-equipped to deal with the Coronavirus public health threat.
