They’re our family, friends and neighbors. The construction worker with high blood pressure who can’t afford medication. The hairstylist with a family history of breast cancer who wants a screening mammogram. The truck driver who previously smoked and knows he should have his lungs checked.

They’re among the hundreds of thousands of hard-working Alabamians who want to stay healthy but are caught in our state’s health coverage gap. They earn too much to qualify for Medicaid, and not enough to afford health insurance.
