APRIL 2, 2020: Forty-seven percent (47%) of voters believe that China is primarily to blame for the coronavirus pandemic ([link removed]) . A national survey conducted by Scott Rasmussen ([link removed]) found that 34% disagree and 19% are not sure.[1] ([link removed])
The survey also found that 27% of voters think it's at least somewhat likely that the Chinese government intentionally created and released the coronavirus.[1] ([link removed])
As with just about everything in the news, there is a massive partisan divide ([link removed]) . Seventy-three percent (73%) of Republicans ([link removed]) believe that China is primarily responsible for the pandemic. That view is shared by 41% of independent ([link removed]) voters and 30% of Democrats ([link removed]) .[1] ([link removed])
Forty-three percent (43%) of Republicans believe it's likely the virus was intentionally released by the Chinese government. Just 23% of independents and 16% of Democrats agree.[1] ([link removed])
