** Monday Nature Mystery

We are pleased to announce the winner of our most recent Monday Nature Mystery, Hope Woodward. (Please email your snail mail address and preference for a hat or tote bag to [email protected] (mailto:[email protected]) ).

Congratulations to Hope for identifying the Curved-tooth Geometer Moth (Eutrapela clemataria). According to Bug Guide ([link removed]) , this is the only species in this genus in North America. The larvae feed on leaves of ash, basswood, birch, elm, fir, maple, poplar, willow, and other trees. Adults live in deciduous and mixed woodlands; they are nocturnal and are attracted to light.
