I’m Rusty Hicks, Chair of the California Democratic Party.

Over the past few months, we’ve asked you to volunteer, donate, and vote. I am honored and humbled that so many of you have stepped up to the plate.

Here’s something you should know about me: I am an organizer at heart. As a labor leader and political organizer for over ten years, I helped lead a successful campaign to raise the wages of nearly 1 million working people in Los Angeles to $15 an hour and passed a progressive ballot measure to build more affordable housing and create good union jobs.

Now, I am responsible for marshaling the resources of the California Democratic Party to flip critical swing seats from red to blue.

California is so close to leading the nation and helping flip the U.S. House back from red to blue.

But I can’t do it alone. And our candidates can’t do it alone either.

It takes a grassroots movement. It takes you.

That’s why I am so grateful for you, John.
