Submit your intentions for 3 Holy Masses – April 6, Anticipatory Divine Mercy Sunday, April 7, Divine Mercy Sunday and April 8, Solemnity of the Annunciation of the Lord

Dear Friend,

Blessed Easter Monday! Here is an opportunity to submit your intentions for three Holy Masses invoking Jesus, the Divine Mercy and Our Lady of the Annunciation.

As the Octave of Easter continues, this weekend (April 6 and 7) the Church celebrates Divine Mercy Sunday, which was declared by St. John Paul II in the Jubilee Year 2000. This was requested by Jesus during a vision to St. Faustina, a Polish Nun, whom Our Lord called “My Secretary of Mercy.”

"My daughter, tell the whole world about My inconceivable mercy. I desire that the Feast of Mercy be a refuge and shelter for all souls, and especially for poor sinners. I pour out a whole ocean of graces upon those souls who approach the fount of My mercy."

According to the vision: “The soul that will go to Confession and receive Holy Communion shall obtain complete forgiveness of sins and punishment.”

At the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe in La Crosse, Wisconsin, Divine Mercy Sunday’s festivities will be officiated by Cardinal Burke. His Eminence will offer a reflection on Divine Mercy, he will lead the congregation in a consecration to Divine Mercy before the Divine Mercy Chaplet, and then Cardinal Burke will preside over the benediction and reposition of the Blessed Sacrament.

This year, the Solemnity of the Annunciation of the Lord was transferred to Monday, April 8.

In the little town of Nazareth, inside of the humble home where Mary lived with her parents, Anna and Joachim, the Archangel Gabriel appeared to the Virgin Mary and delivered the most important message in the history of all mankind, announcing the coming of the Savior of the World and the selection of Mary to be the Mother of God. By her free consent, Mary said yes, and the Holy Spirit performed a miracle – from Mary’s blood, in an instant, the human body of Jesus Christ, the second person of the Holy Trinity, was formed.

Please submit your intentions for: (1) the Anticipatory Divine Mercy Holy Mass on Saturday evening, April 6, (2) the Divine Mercy Sunday Holy Mass, April 7 and (3) the Solemnity of the Annunciation of the Lord Holy Mass on April 8. On each of those days, prayers will be sent to your email address. Please remember to include an intention that an abundance of grace be bestowed upon Cardinal Burke.

May Jesus, the Divine Mercy and the humble virgin of Nazareth, who became the Mother of our Savior and is Queen of the Angels, quickly intercede for our most pressing needs.

Trusting in His infinite Mercy,

Thomas McKenna
