Dear John,
Working on the campaign since Marianne unsuspended, some folks have asked us why do you continue? Isn’t Biden the Democratic nominee?
Our collective response is twofold…
First, not participating in the political discourse feels like giving up and giving in.
Second, if Marianne is not traveling to meet with people, to share her message or email or post on social media, the conversation about people suffering from economic injustice dies. And that’s exactly what the establishment wants. They want everyone to fall in line and to go along with their agenda. And we are just not willing to do so.
We think it’s worth keeping the conversation going. We think it’s worth fighting for folks who can’t pay their rent, who are skipping meals to pay bills, who go without health insurance because they can’t afford it. We think it matters, and we will not rest until this agenda becomes policy.
Right now the platform we have is this one. With Marianne carrying the message to folks in states that have yet to vote in their primaries. We have garnered more than 400,000 votes so far. That means that there are 400,000 people whose lives depend on these policies and we will not give up on them .
So for now we keep going. We think it’s worth it and we hope you do too.
