New Data on AI
On March 28, the U.S. Census Bureau released data from the Business Trends and Outlook Survey and a new supplement measuring artificial intelligence (AI).
The survey measures business conditions and projections on an ongoing basis. The supplemental questions are designed to provide insight into how widespread AI use is by businesses, the specific types of AI that businesses are using, how that use is impacting their employment, and how AI is changing the organization of their business.

Census Bureau Statement on Updated Race and Ethnicity Standards
On March 28, the U.S. Office of Management and Budget published the results of their Statistical Policy Directive No. 15 review and issued updated standards for maintaining, collecting and presenting race and ethnicity data.
These efforts aim to improve federal race and ethnicity statistics and ensure data more accurately reflect the racial and ethnic diversity of the U.S. population.
