Fresno, CA—Former Fresno area Congressman George Radanovich announced his endorsement of Michael Maher for Congress. Radanovich represented the Fresno area in the House of Representatives for sixteen years. 

In his endorsement, former Congressman George Radanovich said, "There is no doubt in my mind that Michael Maher is a Republican who can win this seat and really deliver for the Central Valley."

Radanovich further noted, "Michael's experience as an FBI Special Agent is desperately needed in this increasingly dangerous world. And as a successful small businessman, we can count on him to support the tax cuts our workers so desperately need." 

Michael Maher is a former FBI Special Agent and successful Central Valley-based aviation business owner who enlisted in the Navy after 9/11. Maher is a graduate of Tulare Union High School (2001), Fresno Pacific University, and Senior Executive Fellows program at Harvard's John F. Kennedy School of Government. His father is lead pastor at Calvary Chapel Church in Tulare. 

Maher finished the March Primary for Congress close behind Democratic incumbent Jim Costa, and due to his strong showing, the race has moved up on the influential Cook Political Report, a national publication covering congressional races. 

Michael Maher is a strong fiscal conservative and public safety advocate. In addition to former Congressman Radanovich's support, Maher has been endorsed by Congressman Tom McClintock, former Congresswoman Connie Conway, State Senator Shannon Grove, former CA Secretary of State Bill Jones, Assemblyman Vince Fong, and Tulare County Sheriff Mike Boudreaux and a host of local elected and community leaders from Fresno and Tulare Counties.

About: Michael Maher grew up in Tulare County where he owns and operates a Central Valley based aviation business. Maher’s parents settled in Visalia, where his father still serves as a local pastor. His wife Anne comes from a local multigenerational farming family and they have two children. 

Maher is a United States Navy veteran, and served abroad the USS Salt Lake City, a Los Angeles Class Fast Attack Submarine. Following the Navy, Michael graduated from Fresno Pacific University and then was accepted and graduated from FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia. Michael served as a Special Agent for the Bureau working in the National Security Division.  Additionally with the FBI, Maher was the Counterproliferation Coordinator for the Los Angeles Field Office which included responsibility in supervision of Chemical Weapons Inspections.
