The Florida Supreme Court just ruled on abortion rights and rejected the final challenge to Florida’s extreme 15-week abortion, paving the way for the Florida legislature’s 6-week near-total abortion ban to take effect 30 days from today. Beginning next month, nearly every abortion will be illegal in Florida.
It’s never been more clear why we MUST pass Amendment 4 — the state constitutional amendment protecting abortion rights. The good news is, today the court also ruled Amendment 4 met all requirements for the ballot.
Now, thanks to thousands of volunteers and millions of Floridians who signed petitions, Amendment 4 will be on the ballot in November and we’ll have our chance to overturn these bans, put an end to government overreach into our private lives, and finally enshrine abortion rights in Florida’s constitution.
This means that turning out to vote in November is more important than ever — because make no mistake, extremists will come out in droves to try and uphold the 6-week ban. Can I count on you to show up for the right to choose? |
