Please defend the honor of Jesus and Mary

When my brother Robert, director of America Needs Fatima, told me about a recent attack against Our Lord and the Blessed Mother, I thought you would like to join the protest.

Here’s the dreadful news:

The publisher Drawn & Quarterly has released the graphic (illustrated) book:

Mary Wept Over the Feet of Jesus.

It is being sold on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Good Reads, etc…

In an interview with Salon.com, the author Chester Brown says:

-- “My contention is that Jesus had a different relationship with prostitution than we think he did. I think his mother was a prostitute, and I think he had women around him who were also prostitutes.”

-- “I think that’s what Matthew [the Evangelist – Ed.] is saying – that the Virgin Mary was actually a prostitute…. And that there was some sort of religious association there, involved with religious prostitution and goddess worship and that sort of thing.”

If that was not bad enough, when speaking with The Globe and Mail, Mr. Brown says:

“the Virgin Mary was a prostitute.”
“Jesus was in favor of prostitution.”
“Christianity is the reason why so many people think prostitution is wrong.”

In their interview with Mr. Brown, Slate.com records:

Slate: There’s a lot of nudity here – male and female – and probably a lot more explicit sex than people are used to seeing in biblical adaptations. Are you worried about the response to that at all?

Brown: I think that people who are most likely to be offended by that are Christians.

Slate: What about accusations of sacrilege more generally? Does that possibility trouble you?

Brown: Not really.
