 AFSCME family, meet Heath Schmidt and Paul Tucker. Schmidt and Tucker are paramedics for UF Health ShandsCair, vice president and president of AFSCME Local 260 and our newest Never Quit winners!
When several powerful tornadoes struck northwestern Florida, these paramedics were off duty – but that didn’t stop them from jumping into action. Schmidt and Tucker rushed to the scene and assisted injured individuals who were trapped in an overturned RV. These two men remind us of the bravery and courage our paramedics, firefighters and other first responders display when they put their lives on the line for our communities.
