Yesterday, we celebrated Easter. As was likely the case for many families receiving this email, my wife insisted that, before leaving for church, we take a family picture to capture the kids in their dapper attire. Here was the product: |
I hope that you and your family enjoyed a blessed celebration of the Resurrection. Unfortunately, the Biden Regime seemed to have wished for something different. It first issued an edict denying the reason for Easter - declaring that there would be no religious symbols or overtones - and then secondly declared the day to be Transgender Day of Visibility. Intuitively, most Americans understand this as an affront to Christians by replacing a day we understand to be the most significant in world history with a day celebrating something that our faith does not condone.
However, it goes deeper than that. In Genesis 1, God gives humanity a series of gifts: His image, dominion over earth, biological sex defined as male and female, the ability to procreate, and sustenance. Transgender ideology is an assault on the gift of God’s image, his gift of biological sex, and the ability to procreate. In short, this radical ideology is the ultimate slap-in-the-face to the God who made us and, on Easter, conquered death on our behalf. Katy Faust put it well…
One of our Run2Win Conference speakers that I am most excited about is Katy Faust. She’s incredibly brilliant and brings unique perspective to some of the most challenging topics of our day. Here’s what she said about this announcement: |
But here’s what’s extra disappointing…
Over the weekend, the AJC ran an “Opinion” piece from a gentleman who formerly worked for the Georgia Budget and Policy Institute, a left-wing think tank run by the former regional CEO for Planned Parenthood.
In his role, this gentleman opposed every good thing we were working on - whether it be school choice, protecting kids from gender ideology, or pushing back against woke institutions. I did not think much of it until, in his op-ed, he noted that he was an Elder in a PCA Church.
More than the President of the United States issuing proclamations of “Transgender Visibility Day,” the greatest threat to the Church is secularization from within - those who would take ordained roles of leadership and then turn the church leftward, proclaiming that confirming God’s Design is “cruelty” instead of an act of love stemming from truth. Very few denominations can be trusted to present a consistent, reliable worldview anymore. The PCA, of which I am a member, is one of the few. However, such leadership is a grave threat from within - a threat that has far more eternal consequences than even the revolting actions of the occupant of the White House. |
Worldview and Language Matters…
I’m sure our opponents will try to spin this, but here is the reality: I refuse to refer to anyone as “transgender,” and neither should you or anyone you put forward for church or even political leadership. God made us male and female. Period. End of sentence. There is real and significant pain and misalignment that many feel with their biology. We should have sympathy for that person and work to get them help. Psychological struggles are real and should not be minimized.
However, a declaration that someone is transgender is an affirmation that there is something wrong with their biology. That simply is not the case. With “Transgender Visibility Day” in the rearview, I can say with confidence that none of us has actually seen a transgender person and that to “see” them or “recognize” them as “transgender” is actually undermining reality and constitutes an act of hostility toward them. Instead, we should love those struggling with their gender identity by recognizing them as image bearers, worthy of love, and affirming the wonderful design given to them by God - not the pain-fueled human desire to change their gender.
This is why worldview and language matter so much. There is not a single “anti-transgender” initiative that Frontline supports. Instead, our focus is on being pro-image bearer. We support males and females, all people, in fulfilling their God given potential and cherishing their God-given identity. |
As it Pertains to Legislative Session… We will have more post-session thoughts - some of which will best be shared privately but some we can share publicly.
Some of the framing post-session was that these types of issues - protecting children from sexual indoctrination, saving girls sports, and preserving girls spaces - are “political.”
That could not be further from the truth. We are engaging on some of the most significant truths known to mankind. Standing up for God’s Design protects everyone. It helps ensure biological spaces are protecting and instead of “affirming” painful lies to those struggling with gender identity, it points them back to a truth where hopefully they can find contentment and joy in how they were made. It is NOT “politics” to protect Georgia’s children. It is a moral imperative, and we fully reject such rhetoric and thought processes. |
A Big Battle Before Us…
As we wrestle with these big issues, Frontline is proud to convene some of the leading conservatives on these topics. Those speaking at Run2Win are carefully selected for being thoughtful, principled, and forward-looking.
