My name is Lu Fuki and I'm a jazz musician, writer, composer, culture curator, and artist working with the Muslim Musical Mosaic Project. Often the Black American voice is left out in the conversation regarding Muslim traditions in the United States and I applaud MPV for using this project to highlight the significant contributions of Black American jazz musicians who are also Muslim.
I invite you to watch the video above to listen to my full commentary on the importance of this project for the American Muslim community.
I'm so pleased to share that with the help of MPV's community, the fundraiser for the Muslim Musical Mosaic Project has raised $2,490, which means we're nearly a fifth of the way to reaching our goal of $14,000 to make the Mosaic Project a reality in Los Angeles on May 2, 2024 and InsyaAllah for years to come for the wider American Muslim Community!
If you have already donated to the project in support of the artists like myself and a new American Muslim cultural experience, I want to extend a most heartfelt THANK YOU! We are all so very grateful for your support and your commitment to MPV's latest Advocacy through the Arts initiative.
If you haven't yet made a donation, consider doing so today to help us get to $4,200 or 30% of our goal by the end of the day today!
