Hi Supporter,

We hope that you and your loved ones are staying safe during this difficult time. We’ve been busy here at Every Australian Counts keeping on top of all the latest news about coronavirus and what it means for people with a disability, their families and carers.

With so much uncertainty and changing advice, we’ve been working on getting together a place where you can all find the information you need. A place without all the bureaucratic jargon that is making everything harder than it needs to be. We’re also talking to the National Disability Insurance Agency every day to make sure you have the information and support you need.

Online forum with the NDIA next week

Which brings me to a new event we are hosting next week.

The NDIA has agreed to talk with you all through a huge Zoom hook up. It will be kind of like a forum, but online and in real time.

Scott McNaughton from the NDIA will be joining us live and taking your questions about what is happening with the NDIS.

The forum will be at 10am on Thursday April 9.

You can send your question in ahead of time by emailing us at [[email protected]] and we will put it to Scott. Scott will also be taking questions live – either in person or through the chat function.

You can also send us a question through ahead of time on Facebook [[link removed]] if that is easier.

This is a really important chance to put your burning questions straight to the NDIA. If it works, we’re hoping it will become a regular way for us all to stay on top of what is happening.

You will need to register for the forum - just so we know how many people are coming along. You can register on Eventbrite here [[link removed]].

You will then be emailed a link the day before so you can join the Zoom meeting on Thursday. You will need to make sure you have Zoom installed on your computer or other device which you can do here [[link removed]].

Register for the forum now! [[link removed]] Our new COVID-19 pages are up!

We are all a bit overwhelmed with all the information coming out now – and how quickly it changes. We’re doing our best to make it easier for you to access and understand. We want to make sure that everyone in the Every Australian Counts community has somewhere to go when they need to find something urgently.

So we’ve created a new information hub on our website called the NDIS and the Coronavirus [[link removed]]. We are updating it as quickly as we can to make sure you have what you need.

It includes an FAQs page [[link removed]] with some of the questions we have been asked – and answers without the jargon. You can also ask your own question [[link removed]] there and we’ll talk directly to the NDIA to get you an answer.

And finally, we have a new page for all the resources [[link removed]] we’ve gathered that you might find helpful at this stressful time.

That’s it for now. These are worrying times so make sure you stay in touch with us on Facebook [[link removed]] or Twitter [[link removed]] so you can get all the news as it breaks.

And please look after yourselves – and others.
