Dear John,
Ruth’s List is excited to announce our latest endorsement – Stephanie Arguello, running for the Seminole County School Board in District 3! Stephanie would be the first Black woman ever elected to the Seminole County School Board. At Ruth’s List Florida, nothing inspires us more than helping women run history-making campaigns for state and local office!

Born and raised in Brevard County, Stephanie is a product of Florida’s public school system and her daughter is a current student in Seminole County Public Schools. She has a uniquely personal belief that in order to close gaps in equity, we must empower people with information and education – especially about their health.
Stephanie’s passion for learning and belief in the transformative power of education has been the driving force behind her commitment to positively impacting our school system. As a community health professional, Stephanie has spent over a decade working to improve health outcomes for Central Florida residents through education, building partnerships with local nonprofit organizations, and leading community health improvement efforts in Central Florida and beyond. She currently serves as the City of Orlando’s Equitable Outcomes Team Head and previously worked as the Director of Community Health for AdventHealth Central Florida.
Stephanie also taught science education to kids and families at the Orlando Science Center for three years. She helped to develop a health-related curriculum, teach science labs during field trip visits, and make learning fun and joyful for kids in Central Florida. At AdventHealth, she created and instituted the Mission: FIT Possible program, which taught health and wellness education to over twenty thousand students in schools in Orange, Osceola, and Seminole counties. Throughout her career, she has continued to focus her work on teaching health education to students, families, and local businesses.
