Dear NCH Supporters,
Spring is in full bloom, and that always symbolizes new beginnings and hope, the anticipation is palpable as we prepare for our much-awaited 4th Annual Spring Membership Meeting (details below). As a membership-based organization, we find immense joy in bringing our community together for this special occasion. In celebration, we're shining a spotlight on our exceptional membership department, featuring a captivating blog post authored by our very own Membership Coordinator, Tyler Richardson.
Please, remember to mark April 22nd on your calendars for the upcoming "Housing Not Handcuffs" rally. This event holds great significance as it strives to deliver a poignant message, not just to the U.S. Supreme Court but also to our local governments.
Despite a packed schedule, we're committed to tirelessly advocating for the unhoused and supporting our community of supporters. Thank you wholeheartedly for your continued support and for engaging with our monthly newsletters. Together, we're making a real difference. |
Membership, what does it truly mean? What does it look like?
Being a member of something is like being a brick in a stone wall. A firm, solid, and supportive piece to the overall structure and integrity. At the National Coalition for the Homeless (NCH) we believe there is strength in unity. We know the intimate and severely damaging effects homelessness can have on individuals and families struggling to provide basic needs for themselves, all while being marginalized, criticized and discriminated against.
Join us in this fight to protect the lives of those society has cast aside and help us raise awareness of this ongoing issue. We can no longer ignore the cry for help that is pouring out of every corner of the Nation. It is our duty to protect the unprotected; house the unhoused, and remember those forgotten. We believe housing is a human right.

With our overall reshaping of our organization, we have officially rebranded our Membership! We are curating a community and environment that provides unhoused advocates and individuals with lived experience a safe space to feel at home. We have updated our content to reflect the same visual aesthetic as our wonderful Assistant Communications Director, Kenia Mazariegos, has curated for our website and social media platforms. We are proud to stand together and uphold our same mission and values, with a refreshed and more captivating image.

This month we will be hosting our 4th Annual Spring Membership Meeting! This meeting is designed to put power back in the hands of the people. Through this meeting, we provide opportunities for our members to apply for Membership Representative positions. These positions enable them to represent the entire membership in crucial democratic electoral voting processes and strategic planning for the upcoming year. Additionally, Membership Committee Chair positions offer members a unique chance to serve on our NCH Board of Directors, representing the collective membership. At our core, we are a membership-based organization, and we deeply appreciate the knowledge and expertise contributed by our entire membership.
We look forward to seeing everyone at the Annual Meeting on April 20th and 21st! |
We are working to enhance our overall membership experience in more ways than one! In addition to the rebranding, we are expanding our website to include membership exclusive access! Our esteemed members will have the opportunity to select their preferred membership level and register themselves to gain access to exclusive items featured on the membership portal. We are working to further engage our partners and our overall network of advocates to further our mission and add more value to our membership experience.

On April 22 2024, folks all over the U.S. will hold solidarity actions with our unhoused neighbors to send a powerful message to the U.S. Supreme Court AND our local governments.
Criminalizing folks because they have no housing is not a solution to homelessness!
We call on the Court to rule in favor of human rights and the Constitution. Please use this link for more information on Johnson v Grants Pass
Please take a moment to complete this SURVEY, if you are interested in being connected with others in your community who are organizing actions or if you are organizing one and would like NCH to support.
