Hi there/Firstname,

April Fools!!!!!!!

Unfortunately, today’s subject line couldn’t be further from the truth.

We hope you’ll forgive us for tricking you today! If you were fooled by today’s subject line, we think you should consider donating $4.01 or more to help us elect more pro-choice women to office this November. We’re working to create a country in which today’s subject line isn’t an April Fools Day joke but an actual reality. → [link removed]

Here’s where things actually stand for women in America:

According to the Center for American Women and Politics:

❌ Women only account for 24% of candidates for U.S. House of Representatives, 18.3% of U.S. Senate candidates, and 21.7% of gubernatorial candidates.

❌ The number of women candidates running for the U.S. House is down by 21.6% since 2022.

❌ Men account for 73% of elected leaders and representatives across the country – and that number has not really moved in 4 years.

❌ 14 congresswomen (11 Democrats, 3 Republicans) have announced that they are not running for re-election to their current seats in Congress. Nine congresswomen have announced their retirements from Congress with no intention of running for other public offices.

This is a record high for the number of voluntary departures for congresswomen in any single election cycle.

Here’s what this means:
The U.S. is very likely to have fewer women in office next year than in previous years – reversing all of the important progress we’ve made since 2018 – unless we do something to stop this trend.

We recognize that it’s harder for women to run for office. Women candidates are more likely to be subjected to sexual harassment, sexism, misogyny, double standards, and even death threats. But electing women to the rooms where decisions about our bodies are being made has never been more important. That’s why Her Bold Move provides women candidates with the support they need to win their elections.

We are working to address these real and disturbing stats and ensure that our hard-fought representation doesn’t disappear. Our goal is to chip away at the male majorities in government and get more women elected up and down the ballot. Help us elect as many pro-choice women as possible in 2024 by donating $4.01 or more immediately →
