Established pursuant to Subchapter C, Chapter 57, Texas Occupations Code, the Regulatory Compliance Division conducts an independent review of certain state agencies? rules that affect market competition to assess their consistency with state policy as clearly articulated by the Legislature in state statute.
The Regulatory Compliance Division has recently issued a determination letter for the following rules:
- Texas Department of Motor Vehicles, Title 43 Texas Administrative Code ??215.83, 215.102, 215.103, 215.112, 215.120, 215.133, 215.134, 215.138, 215.139, 215.140, 215.143, 215.160, 215.174, 215.177, 215.178, 221.11, 221.13, 221.14, 221.15, 221.16, 221.41, 221.43, 221.44, 221.45, 221.51, 221.54, and 221.73 (RCD Rule Review #2024-001).
The division has approved the proposed rules which generally update licensure requirements for licenses issued by the department, including eligibility and qualifications for licensure, license application processes, acceptable business practices, and disciplinary procedures.
