Today is our Anniversary. I met the love of my life at a political event.
If you know me, that’s hard to believe, since political events were not my thing, but it’s true.
You see, a mutual friend made sure Annette and I were at the same event. When I first saw her, let me tell you, I was breath taken. We chatted for a while and then of course she told me she had to leave for another event.
Frankly, I thought I’d blown it.
But, a few days later I got a call, and we had our first official date planned. Now, (according to Annette at least) she felt “obligated” to go out with me because she had “promised” our mutual friend she would.
Regardless of whether that’s true or not, our first date was really special. We talked for hours, and more than anything else, I just remember both of us laughing.
Six weeks later Annette proposed to me. And six months after that, on April 1st, well…

Politics is rough, especially here in Florida. As a husband, of course, I don't want to see my wife’s opponent—a Ron Desantis appointee—put up negative ads or spread misinformation about my wife. BUT: I also know that this fight is so important and that Annette is the best candidate for this critical role. She’ll be ready on day one to lead with integrity and accountability. I know because I see it everyday in our home.
Here’s the part where I ask you for money. Like I said earlier, Annette and I met at a political fundraiser. Did I know six months after that, we’d be married? No way... Or that today, on our 24th anniversary, she’d be running to be the guardian of the County’s $11.7 billion dollar budget. Again, no way.
But Annette is an incredible person, an incredible mom, and an incredible wife. I can’t help but think about that first event and smile as I ask you:
Will you donate $5 to help my wife win this race? |
Thanks,
