Biden Celebrates “Transgender Day of Visibility” on Easter Sunday

President Biden: On Transgender Day of Visibility, we celebrate the joy, strength, and absolute courage of some of the bravest people I know. Today, we show millions of transgender and nonbinary Americans that we see them, they belong, and they should be treated with dignity and respect (X). Fox News: Secretary of State Antony Blinken became the latest Biden administration official to mark Transgender Day of Visibility, which has sparked controversy for being celebrated the same day as Easter. “Transgender Day of Visibility is a celebration of the courage and resilience of transgender, nonbinary and gender non-confirming persons who exist in every country and culture around the world,” Blinken said in a statement Sunday (Fox News). Libs of TikTok: This is Rachel Crandall-Crocker. A radical trans activist and therapist. He invented “Trans Day of Visibility.” He says he chose March 31st because he wanted some distance from Transgender Day of Remembrance (Nov 20th) as well as Pride Month, which is in June. Imagine being so oppressed and marginalized that you have to figure out how to space out all the days on the calendar celebrating you (X)! Newt Gingrich: Is President Biden literally out of touch with reality? Why would he take  Christianity’s Holiest Day, Easter, and declare it to be “Transgender day of Visibility?” We would be irritated whenever he did it but doing it on Easter is an obscene insult to every Christian (X).

Catholic President Joe Biden Does Not Want Any Religious Symbolism During Easter Egg Art Contest At White House
New York Post: Children of the National Guard are prohibited from submitting religious Easter egg designs for the 2024 “Celebrating National Guard Families” art event at the White House.  The art contest is part of the White House’s Easter traditions, which include the annual Easter Egg Roll. The flyer for the contest states that an Easter egg design submission “must not include any questionable content, religious symbols, overtly religious themes, or partisan political statements” (New York Post). Collin Rugg: Not only has President Biden declared Easter Sunday 2024 as Transgender Day of Visibility, but he is banning religious-themed Easter egg designs at the Easter Egg Roll event. How Catholic of him. The art contest is a tradition at the White House Easter Egg Roll however the Catholic president doesn’t want to see anything religious-themed. Shameful (X).

Pro-Palestinian Protesters Disrupt Easter Mass in NYC
Just the News: Demonstrators demanding a cease-fire in Gaza interrupted an Easter Vigil Mass at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York City before being removed from the service. Three protesters were arrested after disrupting the Easter services on Saturday evening, according to multiple reports. Video of the incident shows six protesters at the front of the church, holding up a banner reading, “Silence = Death,” before being quickly escorted out by security (Just the News). Reporter Phil Holloway: Quite literally, nothing is sacred and longer. When St. Patrick’s Cathedral can’t celebrate Easter in peace, you know we are a nation in decline. It was a mistake to let the anarchy of 2020 happen with impunity (X).

Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg Promises Additional Funds to Rebuild Baltimore Bridge
Hill: Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg on Sunday said there will be additional federal funding allocated to remove and rebuild the collapsed Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore, while noting that Congress may need to approve such relief. The Department of Transportation dished out $60 million in emergency funding last week, days after the bridge was struck by a cargo ship and collapsed in Patapsco River. Asked on CBS News’s “Face The Nation,” where the money is coming from, Buttigieg said, “We’re using an authority called the emergency relief. This is through our Federal Highway Administration. That’s how we got those first $60 million out and there will be more.” To secure more funding, Buttigieg said he hopes there will be bipartisan support from Congress should the government turn to them (Hill). Analyst Sarah Reese Jones: Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg has a warning for House Republicans who don’t want the federal government to pay for the rebuilding of the Francis Scott Key Bridge, “Your district could be next, and this has historically been bipartisan” (X).

Slain NYPD Officer Jonathan Diller Brings Many Together At His Funeral
Associated Press: A procession of New York Police Department officers, on foot and driving motorcycles, escorted the remains of their slain colleague, Jonathan Diller, to a Long Island church for his funeral service Saturday. The solemn cry of bagpipes and drums hailed Diller’s arrival at Saint Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church in Massapequa Park, New York. Diller, 31, who was shot dead Monday during a traffic stop, was the first New York City police officer killed in the line of duty in two years. Over 10,000 officers showed up with some traveling from as far as Toronto and Miami to pay tribute to Diller. Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D-MI) Suggests Giving Illegal Immigrants $500 Per Month for Housing
Townhall: Progressive Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D-Mich.) is facing heat after suggesting a program that would give illegal immigrants $500 per month in rental assistance.  Whitmer offered Michigan landlords a “newcomer rental subsidy” to house illegal aliens who are facing deportation. The Democrat governor is also facing backlash for referring to illegal immigrants as “newcomers.” The Newcomer Rental Subsidy program “provides Refugees and other Newcomer population-eligible households with rental assistance up to $500 per month for up to 12 months, with eligibility based on immigration status and household income.” According to data, 91,000 illegal immigrants have invaded Michigan, with most coming from Mexico and China. In December, state officials estimate a 40 percent increase in illegal aliens coming to Michigan in 2024 (Townhall). Daily Wire: The Michigan Republicans’ concerns about the rental subsidy program were heightened when an illegal immigrant, who had been deported in 2020, re-entered the country and was arrested earlier this week for allegedly murdering a 25-year-old woman in Grand Rapids (Daily Wire).

Townhall: President Joe Biden is reportedly spending hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars to fund border security in foreign countries as the U.S.-Mexico border sees record-breaking crossings daily. John Fabbricatore: While our border falls apart, the Biden Administration will be giving 380 million dollars to other countries to secure their borders. That’s right, you are being conned. Are you angry yet? Have you had enough (X)?

Radical Hawaii Climate Policy is Borderline Green New Deal Legislation
Fox News: The U.S. Supreme Court is considering whether to take up a case that has one side claiming a “hyper-ideological” Hawaii court is threatening to “strong-arm progressive lifestyle choices” on Americans nationwide by blessing a lawsuit aimed at holding some of the biggest fossil fuel companies liable for climate change. In 2020, the city of Honolulu sued several major fossil fuel companies, including Exxon and Chevron, claiming the companies’ products cause greenhouse gas emissions and global warming without warning consumers about the risks. The city employed a series of state laws like public nuisance and trespass measures and said the companies should pay billions to the state to abate the effects of climate change like weather events, sea level rise, heat waves, flooding and global warming generally. The energy companies appealed to the Hawaii Supreme Court, arguing federal law prevents individual states from effectively shaping energy policies for all states (Fox News). Daily Wire: Experts are warning that the state of Hawaii’s ruling against oil companies is a “stalking horse” for effectively forcing Americans to live under the Green New Deal (Daily Wire).

Fox News: A video of Guyana President Mohamed Irfaan Ali blasting a BBC reporter for trying to lecture him about climate change went viral this week.
