I am very pleased to announce my recent candidacy for the 2018 election for our seat in Congress currently held by Republican Scott Tipton. I’m reaching out to you all with this email blast via MailChimp list-serve. You’re on my initial mail list either because you signed up on my contact sheet, you signed up with my MailChimp list, or you were in my email address book as a friend or acquaintance. I made my announcement locally in Durango on Thursday of last week, and sent out press releases to all 19 CD3 newspapers and the Denver Post on Tuesday, February 27^th. I’m hoping you have already seen some coverage of my candidacy.

We are in dire times regarding a viable future for our country. My platform is based on a strategic vision regarding four key “gateway issues” that we need to address for a healthy nation. These issues are identified with their associated strategic threats and measures of policy outcome: Healthy Democracy; Healthy Population; Healthy Environment; and Healthy Economy. You will find these points fully addressed on my website as a summary poster, and with a link to my new downloadable book “Strategic Vision for a Viable American Future.”

Two other early-starter candidates have jumped in previously and consequently they have had more opportunity to increase their visibility. Now there are two more candidacies including mine so three of us will be running via the CD3 Assembly process on April 13^th. The 4^th candidate intends to petition to get on the June 26^th Primary ballot. The goal today, just 3 days before our Precinct Caucuses on March 6^th, is that you all get a chance to find out about the candidacy of Root Routledge before caucuses. This way, if you’re a registered Democrat you will have all the information you need to make fully informed decisions about who to support. It’s very important that all Democrats turn out for their respective precinct caucuses, this is our democratic process at the most fundamental, grassroots level.

Caucuses are where delegates are elected to their respective County Assemblies and at the county level some of those delegates will be elected to go on to our Congressional District 3 Assembly, April 13^th, where those delegates will choose who will represent the Democratic Party as the nominee for Congress in the November 6^th election. Many delegates will also go to the State Assembly, April 14^th, to choose their nominees for State-level offices. If—with your help—I’m successful at the Assembly, I will be traveling throughout District 3 in the coming weeks to meet and greet as many of you as possible. If you’re unaffiliated, you can vote for me in the June 26^th Primary. If you’re a Republican, please check my message out, as you can vote for me in November if you want a positive change for the future.

If you like the values and vision I’m putting forth through my website, I ask you to run as a delegate and be there to support my candidacy for Congress in that final District Assembly vote—after you've had a chance to hear all three candidates speak at the Assembly.
