I’m glad I could catch you on this Easter Sunday before you unplug for the evening. I know we’ve been in touch quite a bit this week, so I’ll get right to the point.

Tonight at midnight is my first legal fundraising deadline of 2024, my first re-election year. After this deadline, we’ll submit our fundraising numbers to the FEC and show Joe McGraw, Mike Johnson, and national Republicans what our campaign is made of. 

I’d be remiss if I didn’t ask one last time: will you contribute before midnight to help us reach our target goal just in time? Your donation could be the one that puts us over the hump.

Every day I spend in Congress is a reminder of just how critical it is that Democrats retake the House. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s threat of a new Speaker vote for simply keeping the government open makes it clear that the Republican Party is operating at the mercy of the farthest-right members of its caucus. The best way we can push back on their dangerous agenda is by relegating them back into the minority.

There are very few pathways to winning back the House without keeping Illinois’ 17th District blue. That’s why my race is so important, and it’s why we’re doing everything we can to meet our mark before this deadline.
