John -- Many of you have been in self-isolation for quite some time now. We’ve been practicing social distancing because that’s what the doctors and experts tell us will mitigate this crisis and save lives.
But that doesn’t mean it’s easy. I know it’s hard to be away from family and friends, and I know it’s even harder for those who don’t know how they’re going to pay their bills if they can’t go to work or open their place of business. That’s why I wanted to reach out to you, and ask how you’re doing.
Part of being a Congressman is political. That part is about casting votes, drafting legislation, giving speeches and so on. But part of it is also interpersonal. That part is about getting to know people, hearing their stories, and then taking action to help.
During these difficult times, I want to hear from you, John. Will you tell me how you are doing and also share some strategies you’ve been using to keep your spirits up? I’ll then share your suggestions with everyone so we all have a list of ideas of activities we can each do to get through this crisis together.
The easiest way for me to review how everyone is doing is for you to share on this form here. If you would be willing to share, please let me know.
In solidarity,
Hank
