Dear Friends — It's Census Day! The Census is a really important tool used by government to determine political representation, inform business development and investment, and allocate government funds to communities, particularly the ones in need. And for New Orleans, we must all be counted to get the resources we need and deserve.
As we look to recover from Coronavirus, having an accurate count of our residents will be crucial to getting federal resources. Will you complete the Census online today?

I sat down with my daughter, RayAnn, last week to complete the Census, and it only took us about 15 minutes! Please watch this informational video below to learn more about why it's so important:

New Orleans, we absolutely need each and every one of you to be counted in the census. Our city hasn’t had a real count since 2000 because of Hurricane Katrina. It’s vital we get counted and get our fair share, especially now with this global pandemic.
So, while you're home — take a little time to fill out the Census. Stand Up and Be Counted!
Thank you,
LaToya
P.S. — Tomorrow, I'll be on ABC's The View at 10AM and CNN's The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer at 5PM to talk about the strong measures our city is taking to stop the spread of the coronavirus and flatten the curve! Be sure to tune in, and thanks for doing your part to get informed and stay safe.
