On the bright side, we have plenty of time to turn this around.
John,
We have some bad news to share — but it’s not an entirely bleak picture: 👇
Before we explain more about what the latest polling data is telling us, can you chip in $5 — or anything that makes sense for you — ahead of our first 2024 end-of-quarter fundraising deadline at midnight tonight?
Okay, let’s get into it, John:
You’re probably well aware that political polling can be notoriously tricky to accurately gauge — and moreover, polling changes constantly.
However, a recent Marist survey shows our part-time senator leading his Democratic rival Colin Allred by six percentage points. When broken down further, Allred has begun to trail behind Cruz among registered independent voters — whose support will be essential if we’re going to Cut Cruz from the Senate once and for all in November.
On the bright side, we have plenty of time to turn this around! Here’s what else we learned from the Marist survey:
-
Despite leading Allred, Ted Cruz’s popularity remains low — with just 45 percent of voters viewing him favorably and 43 percent viewing him unfavorably.
-
On the other hand, Colin Allred has nearly a third of voters viewing him favorably while only 17 percent view him unfavorably.
-
Lastly, but crucially — the polling and data suggested that the race could still swing either way if Allred acquires better name recognition among voters.
It’s this last point that we’re laser-focused on, John. We’re going all out to see Colin Allred make history later this year — and send our far-right embarrassment of a senator into an early retirement once and for all. But we can only do this with your support.
With just hours left until our end-of-quarter deadline, can you pitch in a $5 contribution to support our efforts to Cut Cruz?
