39 years ago this week on a gloomy March morning in 1981, a bullet tore through Jim Brady’s brain during the assassination attempt on President Reagan. While the president survived without permanent injury, Jim was left partially paralyzed – and determined to spend the rest of his life protecting others from gun violence.

Years later, we continue Jim’s passionate battle to save lives — and that means continuing to fight against the NRA.

The NRA has spent decades pouring hundreds of millions of dollars into blocking every single piece of common-sense gun safety legislation we propose.The NRA even tried to stop the Brady Bill from becoming law. But thanks to our continued activism — and your continued support —things are finally changing.

Now, for the first time in decades, the NRA is reeling. Last year, they ousted their leadership, came under federal investigation for tax fraud (a charge led by Brady), and fell into a deep financial crisis. And they’ve been in a free fall ever since.
