With March primary ballots almost completely counted, it's clear that nearly all of the pro-housing candidates California YIMBY endorsed for the state legislature are moving on to the general election. This is a massive win -- for you, for the YIMBY movement, and for housing affordability in California.

But the primaries are just the start. A long general election campaign begins now, and our housing champions need your help to win – and help transform housing policy in California. Will you pitch in $25 a month or more to join our Framer community of donors – and help the California YIMBY Victory Fund elect great candidates in 2024?

Some of our pro-housing candidates will have a clear path to victory in November. Nick Schultz is poised to replace termed-out YIMBY champion Laura Friedman to represent the 44th Assembly District in Burbank. And Friedman, author of AB 2097 – which eliminated parking mandates in many neighborhoods across California – secured the top slot in her own race for Congress!

But most of our endorsed candidates have a tough fight on their hands in November, and we cannot afford to take anything for granted. One example: Darshana Patel prevailed in a highly contested intra-party battle in San Diego's 76th Assembly District – and faces what will likely be a close election in the fall.

California YIMBY also backed Berkeley mayor Jesse Arreguín, who finished first in the primary to succeed another YIMBY stalwart, Nancy Skinner, in the 7th Senate District. He's also going to face a hard-fought battle to win this seat in November, and we need to show up to help him and other pro-housing candidates across the finish line.

We need to back our incumbent housing champions and pro-housing candidates to confront the affordability crisis in California and effectively address the housing shortage. I'm asking you today – please help us build a resilient and vigorous pro-housing alliance.
