Today is Transgender Day of Visibility, friend.

Trans folks are trailblazers for justice, equity, and progress – both across the globe and throughout generations.

But instead of celebrating, transphobic Republicans are actively targeting and endangering the lives of trans and non-binary people through hateful legislation that only seeks to ostracize and exclude transgender folks from public life.

It’s time we call the Republican campaign against the transgender and non-binary community what it is: a hate-fueled agenda to harass children and families for cheap and ugly political points. As Wisconsin Democrats, we have a moral imperative to stand with the transgender and non-binary community.

But friend, we can’t simply say a few words and commemorate this day. That’s why we’re asking folks to join us on social media and share to their own networks our posts commemorating this important day.

If we can show our friends, family, neighbors, and co-workers that we support the trans folks in our life then we’ll show incremental change in the fight to protect LGBTQ+ rights.
