Transgender Day of Visibility
It’s Easter - a day of celebration for many, whether secular or religious; a good day for contemplation of what good we have in our lives. But internationally, March 31 is Transgender Day of Visibility. It is a day of renewal, of recommitment to accepting, respecting, and loving one of the most marginalized groups in the world. Spring is a time of renewal and uplifting, of seeing all around us begin to grow and blossom again.
Today, please join us in renewing your commitment to seeing trans persons as they truly are - the fully human and therefore equal members of our society here and everywhere, and a recommitment to the boldness, compassion, and wisdom needed to stand up with our siblings.
Your words and actions make a difference; help us make sure all our words and actions make a space safer, more secure, more accepting. There is nothing greater you can do than to be a haven of acceptance, respect, and love.
