Haiti will go hungry soon
Mercy Corps’ Country Director in Haiti comments on the gang uprising in Port-au-Prince, which has forced civilians to barricade themselves in their homes, overwhelmed crisis and trauma centers, and compromised the safety of aid workers.

“There is no life without water”
In the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) village of Buhengere, near the south of Lake Kivu, fetching water is no longer a laborious and unsafe chore. Families can now turn on a tap to quickly fill a water container, a task that used to take an hour. Since 2014, Mercy Corps has been undertaking one of its largest infrastructure programs in DRC.

Aracely uplifts women in her community
Taking care of her siblings helped Aracely discover her talent for empathy and human connection. She initially studied to become a teacher and eventually decided to pursue a psychology degree. With help from Mercy Corps, she saved enough to pay for her education and inspire others in her community.
