March 31 is Trans Day of Visibility!

Dear John,

Every March 31, we celebrate #TransDayOfVisibility (TDOV).

Today is a day to celebrate the visibility of trans communities and to recognize the joy, creativity, and love they bring into our lives. However, amidst a surge in anti-trans hate and harmful government policies, being visible has become increasingly challenging and risky.

Visibility is a balancing act, and to be safely visible is a privilege.

Visibility is a balancing act. To be safely visible is a privilege.

For our trans and nonbinary community members, we at Egale see you, we celebrate you, and we’re glad you’re here.

We want to be visible for you when you feel like you cannot be, and we are working hard to advocateask questionsraise awareness, and educate on your behalf.

This Trans Day of Visibility, we ask those of you who have access to the privilege of visibility to be loud in your celebration for trans and nonbinary people everywhere, especially those who do not feel safe to be visible themselves.

Visibility is a balancing act. To be safely visible is a privilege.

Support Egale’s work on trans visibility.

Wishing you joy and love today and every day!

In Solidarity,

Your Friends at Egale Canada
