Right off the bat, I just want to say thank you for being part of this team. I don’t take your support for granted. Just the fact that you opened this email means a lot to me.
I’m reaching out personally because I need to ask you to make a contribution before tonight’s FEC deadline. I know the gun lobby is trying to stage a comeback this year, and I want to make clear that we’re ready for whatever they throw at us.
That’s why I’m focused on the number of donations to my re-election right now. The number of people chipping in to power our work is just as important to me as the amount we raise.
It helps me prove that this isn’t another typical DC campaign loaded up with PAC and corporate money (FYI I don’t take PAC money). Your donation sends a message loud and clear that we have an army of people who have my back in the fights ahead of us.
The first deadline of 2024 is a critical moment for us, and I’m honestly not sure we’ll hit our goal unless we have a big response today. I know you probably did not wake up and think “today’s the day I make my first contribution to Chris”...but if you can afford to give, I really need it.
