NYT: Judge Rules in Favor of Montana Youths in a Landmark Climate Case [[link removed]]
In case you missed it, John, a Montana state court delivered a milestone judgement recently. This decision protects our future by stating that young people have a constitutional right to a healthful environment and that the state must consider potential climate damage when approving projects.
The office of the Republican Montana Attorney General, Austin Knudsen, immediately attacked the ruling as "absurd" and said an appeal to the state Supreme Court would be filed soon.
Remember, Montana is one of the 14 states that hold nonpartisan elections for state Supreme Court. The fate of this critical case will be decided a court elected without any party ID on a part of the ballot where people tend to just vote for the names they recognize.
