My pet bunny is rummaging through Easter decorations!

Hoppy Easter! 🐣🐰💐

Easter has always been a special day in our house, and even more so since we adopted our bunny a few years ago.  Before our bunny came home, I loved my annual chocolate rabbit. But I wouldn’t want to hurt her feelings by munching on her edible look-alikes, so now our household Easter traditions tend to involve chocolate-glazed doughnuts instead. 🍩

See, my first job was working at a doughnut shop before school. Taking as many hours as I could at minimum wage wasn't easy — but it was enough to help cover rent for my family’s tiny apartment, graduate college, and eventually go on to serve my country in Congress. The doughnut business helped make my American Dream a reality.

But friend, would you believe Rick Scott’s “American Dream” began in the doughnut business, too?

In fact, the profits from the two doughnut shops he bought jump-started his corporate career as a hospital chain CEO. After running one of the biggest Medicare frauds in history, he landed in Florida with a $310 million golden parachute — enough to buy a seat in the U.S. Senate and attack the opportunities that made my American Dream possible.

While the love of money may be the root of all evil, I’m not afraid of Rick Scott or his ill-gotten gains. But to stay competitive in this race, we’ve got to close the final $5,439 gap to my $700k end-of-quarter goal tonight. Doing that will take nothing short of a miracle, so if you are willing: Can you please chip in $5 or whatever you can spare by midnight?
