Friend, today is one of the most important days of the campaign.
After our first FEC deadline of the election year hits at midnight, we are legally required to publicly release our fundraising numbers.
And now that Kyrsten Sinema is out of the race, now that this is a head-to-head between me and the “MAGA Queen” Kari Lake, we’ve got a lot to prove.
But let’s put that aside for a minute. I felt like I owe it to you to explain my decision to run for Senate in the first place.
If you’ve got a minute, stick around.
I put my life on the line in the Marines to defend this country. I swore an oath to protect and defend our Constitution and I took that oath seriously. I lost a lot of friends in Iraq, but I never lost faith in this country.
Then, on the floor of the U.S. House on January 6th, I was ready to defend our democracy again. I wasn’t going to let a bunch of insurrectionists stop us, and it wasn’t lost on me who sent them there.
Trump caused January 6th. But it was people like Kari Lake who fanned the flames, spreading the same lies and election denial conspiracies that inspired the insurrection in the first place.
I am running for the U.S. Senate because the future of our democracy depends on defeating people like Trump and Kari Lake.
And our success, ultimately, is going to come down to whether or not we raise the resources we need to win. Whether we raise those resources depends on folks like you, chipping in what you can, when you can.
It’s a lot of pressure, I know. I feel it, too. But consider that donation an act of hope.
Hope that when people come together, good things can happen. That we can do the work that needs to be done, and continue improving this country for the better.
That’s what I believe, and I hope you do, too. So please, I’m humbly asking:
Make your contribution to my campaign so that we can crush our fundraising goals ahead of this FEC deadline and show everyone that we can win this race. I’m really counting on you today.
