Like a lot of Michiganders, I am sure family is on the mind as people across the state gather to celebrate Easter Sunday.

So I come to you, apologetically, to ask for your help today. Before midnight.

Would you be able to make a contribution to my Senate campaign before our FEC fundraising deadline ends tonight at midnight? If you have been thinking about donating to our campaign, now would be the perfect time.

I’d really love it if I could earn your support today. Because tonight at the stroke of midnight, this 3-month public reporting period is over. We need as much momentum as possible to show that we are a formidable opponent to the eventual GOP nominee. And with four serious Republican contenders getting into the race over the past few months, this public fundraising report will be looked through with a fine-tooth comb to see how we stack up.

The polls are showing that this Senate race in Michigan is a dead heat with a lot of voters still undecided. That’s who we need to get to. If we fall short of our goal before our FEC deadline ends, it delays us talking to crucial voters early — especially in places outside of my current congressional district.

I need to introduce myself to the 10 million people in Michigan, and an early introduction could be the difference between winning or losing next year.

So please: Can you make a contribution to my Senate campaign before the FEC fundraising deadline ends tonight at midnight? I would not ask if it weren’t so important.
