The joy of that first Easter morning fills me with such wonder and awe at the immense power of our God. These first two months at Americans United for Life have convinced me more and more that we will win this battle for life because of what happened on Easter morning two thousand years ago.
Our movement is one of hope and joy, but that does not come without passing through the way of the Cross. Our movement has had its fair share of ups and downs, seeming defeats, of bruises and scourgings, of falling down and getting back up again.
But our movement keeps getting back up again because we know in the end that life wins.
I was able to speak on the steps of the Supreme Court during the oral arguments in FDA v. Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine earlier this week. As I spoke, around me was chaos. The counter-protestors rallied just as loud, if not louder than we did. They screamed and shouted, and played blaring music to drown out our message.
What I realized, though, is that Good Friday - and ultimately Easter Sunday - happened for them, too.
The hope that fills our movement is available to the other side, too. And I hope and pray that one day, those protestors will come to believe that the power and blessing of LIFE is infinitely stronger than the power of death.
Thank you so much for your investment in the team at AUL. We are passionate about bringing about the end to abortion and physician-assisted suicide in our nation once and for all. With your help, I believe we can make that a reality.
Please continue praying for our team. Pray for this movement. Pray for the women, families, and for softened hearts on the other side. Pray for opportunities to expose the truth. Pray for conviction and truth among elected officials and judges. Pray for miracles beyond our wildest imaginations. Pray for hope, for light and salt, for redemption and grace, and for our perseverance in this fight.
I pray that you all have a joyous Easter weekend celebrating the Resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! A happy and blessed Easter to you from all of us at Americans United for Life.
