There are two things you can do at this very moment that will help change the direction our country is headed: Social distancing and completing the 2020 Census.
The Census comes every 10 years and only takes about 10 minutes to complete. If you've been putting it off for a while, today's the last day you can fill out the Census and make sure you're counted!
Here's why the Census is so important:
It gives us power when we most need it.
The Census is a strong tool our government uses to allocate funds and resources to our communities. If they don't have an accurate count, we risk losing the funding that powers the most important aspects of our communities.
It gives us representation in Congress.
The Census also determines our representative count in Congress! It allows each and every one of us to have our voices heard and make sure we're adequately represented in Congress.
It's required.
Here's the not-so-fun part about the Census: it's required. That means we must complete the Census either by mail or online. It's part of our duty as Americans.
