Earlier this week, the MAGA Supreme Court heard arguments in FDA v Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine, which is just the latest installment of their campaign against reproductive freedom. We likely won’t get a ruling until late June, but the arguments we heard were telling.

While the majority of Justices seemed to question the legal standing of the case, Justice Alito and Justice Thomas raised the question of the Comstock Act - an archaic law passed before women even had the right to vote that extremist activists and lawmakers alike want to use to ban abortion without any new legislation overriding the will and values of the American people.

It’s obvious that far-right activists aren’t leaving any stone unturned in their quest to strip women of their fundamental right to control their futures and protect their lives - even if it means attempting to revive laws that haven’t been in effect for half a century.
