Seriously, you need to watch this video. It starts with the policy director of Abolish Abortion Texas saying that abortion is murder and should be punished by execution, and continues with him expressing the organization’s view that birth control pills like Plan B and medical treatments like in vitro fertilization are also abortion, and therefore murder that should be punished with death.

None of the Republican officials at this meeting spoke up. But it’s not just the people at this one meeting; it’s happening across the state.

Texas Republicans are increasingly signing on to Abolish Abortion Texas’s view that abortion, birth control, and in vitro fertilization are murder. And they want to punish women seeking an abortion, birth control, or IVF with death.

At least 12 Republican candidates for the Texas Legislature have signed a pledge from Abolish Abortion Texas to file legislation criminalizing abortion, birth control, and IVF. And several current members of the Texas Legislature have already introduced AATX-approved legislation that would do so.

If they have their way, women will risk death either way: High-risk pregnancies will result in death, and medical care will result in the death penalty. Because these people actually think that’s God’s plan for women.

We can’t trust the Texas Republican Party.
