GET THE FACTS: Border Crisis

Under President Biden’s open-border policies, illegal immigration has been up 3x what it was when he was vice president, and 4x as much as what it was under President Trump. Between the cops assaulted in New York City, the woman murdered in Michigan, Laken Riley’s brutal murder in Georgia, and the hundreds of other instances of violent crime, we’ve already seen the negative effects of open-border policies. That’s not to mention the housing crisis it is causing in major cities across America. New York City has already said they will be providing pre-paid debit cards to illegal migrants to combat the crisis and Michigan will now be providing $500 rent vouchers. This is a spending catastrophe for blue states and cities across the country. It cannot continue. House Republicans already passed the strongest border security bill ever, H.R. 2. It’s time for the Senate to take it up. The consequences of open borders are already happening and it’s only getting worse.

Team Lesko recently presented Ed Drummond with a Congressional Recognition. Ed has been a pillar in the community, organizing and connecting local entrepreneurs to make an impact on food scarcity for homeless and at-risk Arizona youth, as well as raising money and awareness through Homeless Engagement Lift Partnership.

Casework Highlight

A constituent’s medical business stopped receiving payments from Medicare for a significant amount of claims that should have been paid. Our office contacted Medicare and asked for a review of the issue. After review, their account was cleared and resulted in the outstanding claims paid.

Military Academy Nominations

As a member of Congress, Congresswoman Lesko, has the privilege of nominating a limited number of people to four of the five service academies. This would include nominating candidates for appointment to: U.S. Military Academy (West Point); the U.S. Naval Academy; the U.S. Air Force Academy; and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy. The fifth service academy, the U.S. Coast Guard Academy does not require a congressional nomination for appointment. For more information click here.

Each spring, a nation-wide high school art competition is sponsored by the Members of the U.S. House of Representatives. The Congressional Art Competition is an opportunity to recognize and encourage the artistic talent in the nation, as well as in our congressional district. 2024 Congressional Art Competition submissions are due May 1, 2024.
