I have bad news. This week, the Wisconsin Legislature passed a bill that makes it harder to prevent mass shootings – a bill that comes straight from the pro-gun lobby.
Now, it is up to Governor Evers, who must veto this reckless bill. But to stand up against the NRA and the politicians they fund, he needs our support today. Tell Governor Evers that he must prioritize people over guns. [[link removed]]
This bill really gets into the weeds, but at a basic level, it aims to restrict investigators from using valuable information about unusual credit card transactions, information crucial in the prevention of gun smuggling and mass shootings.
This is yet another example of politicians trying to exempt the gun industry from oversights that apply to every other type of business. That’s right: no other industry receives the special treatment this law would provide to gun sellers.
