Hi friend,

You may have heard — March is Public Lands Month at EnviroVoters! All month long, we’ve teamed up with EnviroVoters like you to spread awareness and build support for efforts to protect and expand California’s stunning natural landscapes, national monuments, and national parks.

From forests and mountains in the north to deserts and chaparral in the south, we need your help to protect the Golden State’s wildlands, waters, and animal life. Can you contribute today to help us wrap up Monumental March with a bang?

Friend, here’s how we’ve made March a monumental moment for California’s public lands:

In Northern California, we’re fighting to add thousands of acres to the Berryessa Snow Mountain National Monument, the historic sacred lands of the Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation and a key source of drinking water in the region.

In Imperial County, EnviroVoters stands with the Fort Yuma Quechan Tribe’s efforts to establish the Kw'tsán National Monument, which will protect nearly half a million acres of culturally rich, ecologically vital, and historically significant public land.

Across the San Gabriel Mountains, we’re raising our voices alongside nature lovers like you to ask President Biden to expand the National Monument by 109,000 acres to increase equitable access to nature, improve public health, and protect one-third of L.A. County’s clean drinking water.

Nestled in the highlands of Medicine Lake, the Pit River Tribe is working toward establishment of another national monument to protect the sacred lands known as Sáttítla. Underground aquifers in the Medicine Lake area — the northernmost monument project in the state — collect as much fresh water as California’s 200 largest surface reservoirs, and we’re fighting to ensure this precious environment and vital natural resource are permanently protected for generations to come.

Among the Joshua trees and wildflowers of California’s southern deserts, we’re supporting the protection of over 660,000 sprawling acres with the formation of the Chuckwalla National Monument in the traditional homeland of the Iviatim, Nüwü, Pipa Aha Macav, Quechan and Maara’yam peoples, as well as a variety of species from resilient desert tortoise to the majestic bighorn sheep.

President Biden and Governor Newsom have both made commitments to conserve 30% of our lands and coastal waters by 2030. Please pitch in $30 or more to support our work pushing them to realize these goals >> [link removed]

We’re committed to fighting for these lands on every front not just for clean air and clear water, but for the legacy of the Indigenous people who called them home, and for generations of Californians to come. To do that, we need your help.

Can you contribute any amount today, on this last weekend of Monumental March, to help us keep the momentum going? Your support directly enables us to organize more Californians, pressure more elected officials, and ultimately, protect more public land across the Golden State.

Together, we can build a legacy of preservation and harmony with our natural world, and with your continued support, I know we will get there.
